TRS Leader Kavitha Seeks BC Quota Bill
Former MP questions integrity of Caste Census data
Karimnagar: MLC K. Kavitha of the BRS has demanded that the State Assembly introduce a BC reservation Bill to increase reservations in local body elections.
Speaking in Peddapalli district, Kavitha highlighted discrepancies between the 2011 census and the 2014 family survey — pointing out a rapid increase in households — and questioned the current figures provided by the Congress government.
She noted that the actual BC population in Telangana could be as high as 50–52 per cent, compared to the reported 46.3 per cent, and called for a review of the survey data amid allegations that many villages were skipped during data collection.
