Revanth visits Singapore, Davos, seeks investment

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, leading a delegation from Telangana, embarked on a foreign tour on Thursday night. The tour includes a three-day visit to Singapore, from January 17 to 19, followed by participation in the three-day World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, from January 20 to 22. The delegation comprises IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu and senior officials from the industries department. In Singapore, the Chief Minister will meet the leadership teams of companies to attract investments to Telangana and will visit the Singapore Institute of Technical Education (SITE) to study its curriculum and skill development policies. An agreement is set to be signed between the SITE and the Young India Skills University to bolster skill development initiatives in the state. The Chief Minister will tour the Singapore Riverfront to explore ideas for developing Hyderabad’s Musi Riverfront. The state government aims to implement global standards for the Musi revival project.Later, the delegation will travel to Davos on January 20. Reflecting on last year’s successful Davos visit, which secured investments worth `40,000 crore, Revanth Reddy expressed confidence in surpassing this achievement during the 2025 visit. The focus will be on sectors such as IT, artificial intelligence, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and renewable energy under the state’s new Clean and Green Energy Policy. Hyderabad’s Future City development projects, Metro Rail expansion, elevated corridors, radial roads and the Musi revival have drawn national attention and are expected to attract global interest during the tour. Over the past year, Telangana has emerged as a key economic driver in India. Foreign tours led by CM Revanth have played a pivotal role in securing investments, with successful trips to the United States and South Korea. Hyderabad has also gained recognition as a hub for global capability centres (GCCs). The Chief Minister’s current tour seeks to continue this momentum, ensuring Telangana’s sustained growth as a destination for international investments.
