Dead rat in Duronto AC coach makes journey hard
Hyderabad:Passengers aboard the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Secunderabad Duronto Express endured a foul odour believed to be caused by a dead rat in the A3 coach on Saturday night. Several passengers, including Sanjay Singh (55), Sadhna Singh (48), and Amit Jain, described the ordeal as a nightmare. “The compartment was stinking badly, and our complaints went unanswered initially,” said Sanjay Singh. Amit Jain said the train ticket examiner (TTE) intervened and relocated about 30 passengers to other AC coaches. Another traveller, Siddharth Pandey, criticised the poor quality of bed rolls, describing them as “not totally dry,” despite passengers being charged for the service. A senior South Central Railway workshop employee acknowledged the possibility of a rat entering an AC vent and could have gone undetected during cleaning.
