25 AP Sarpanches to Be Honoured on Republic Day in Delhi
Visakhapatnam: Union Panchayati Raj ministry is set to honour sarpanches of select gram panchayats in the country on the occasion of the Republic Day in New Delhi on Sunday. 25 of them will be from Andhra Pradesh. These sarpanches have been chosen as they have implemented at least six government schemes in their villages at the saturation level. The sarpanches have ensured that all persons within their panchayat eligible for a particular scheme have benefited from the same. Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances had provided all districts with the criteria for selecting the sarpanches. Based on these criteria, district collectors and panchayat officers in AP selected 25 sarpanches for their exceptional performance. The chosen sarpanches and their spouses, upon their arrival, will receive entry passes for the parade. District panchayat officers have been tasked with guiding the selected participants in making their travel and accommodation arrangements to ensure a hassle-free experience for them.
