Srisailam to get makeover as world-class tourist hub
Kurnool: Efforts are on to transform Srisailam into a premier tourist destination. For ensuring seamless and enriching experience to visitors; a high-level meeting of officials was convened at Srisailam on Wednesday to discuss measures in this regard. The meeting was chaired by A. Vidyavathi, secretary of the ministry of tourism, government of India, wherein managing director of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Amrapali Kata, Nandyal joint collector Vishnu C. Charan, executive officer of Srisailam M. Srinivasa Rao and other officials from the administration, were present. As part of the government of India’s initiative, three major destinations—Srisailam, Dwaraka, and Khajuraho—have been selected for developing them into world-class tourist hubs. The discussions at the meeting focused on identifying gaps in tourism services and proposing solutions so as to enhance visitors’ experience. The central and state governments have been working together as well as focusing on action plan divided into short, medium, and long-term measures over the next six to eight months.
