American Actress and Singer, Selena Gomez broke down into tears after US president Donald Trump announced the deportation of illegal migrants.
The singer expressed grief through Instagram, where she posted a video. However, she deleted the clip later.
An emotional Selena put a Mexican flag and wrote 'I'm sorry' on the video.
In the video, Selena said, "Just wanted to say that I'm so sorry. All my people are getting attacked. The children. I don't understand. I'm so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can't. I don't know what to do. I'll try everything, I promise."
The deleted video, however, was resurfaced online after a fan page shared the video on X.

The now viral video drew mixed reactions. As some of her fans supported and sympathised, many criticized her on Social Media.
A User wrote, "Her people. She is an American...her "people" are American Citizens. If she wants to be a Mexican ...then go live amongst "your people"."
"Why would you cry about holding people accountable when they break the law?" another user wrote.
A third person said, "It's not Trump's immigration law against Mexicans and Latinos. It is U.S. law against people that enter the country illegally."
"Her people have their own country. She should be tried for treason," another wrote.
"Oh no, they are deporting people who came into the country illegally. Who will the billionaires exploit for slave labor now, " another person added sarcastically.
Selena posted a note on her Instagram Story after she faced the backlash, and wrote, "Apparently it's not ok to show empathy for people."
However, she deleted that post shortly after just like the previous one.
In 2019, Selena produced a documentary titled 'Living Undocumented' that tells the stories of immigrants living in the United States during the Trump administration.
