Praja Palana grama sabhas disturbed by political opponents

Nizamabad: Political opponents targeted the Praja Palana Grama Sabhas in Nizamabad and Kamareddy district. To receive applications from the people and list out the beneficiaries details, the officials conducted grama sabhas in villages and towns in both districts. Political opponents of local MLAs targeted the grama sabhas and created hurdles to the programme by raising slogans and arguing with the official teams. The district administration constituted special teams to conduct Praja Palana grama sabhas in all 9 Assembly constituencies in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts. In two sessions, officials received applications from the people for Indiramma housing, new ration cards, Indiramma Athmiya Bharosa schemes. Few political opponents strategically entered the grama sabhas and argued with the officials on various issues. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, M.Ramesh, a private employee said that they applied for new ration card several times for the last 11 years. ‘We are vexed with the submission of applications and unable to get new ration cards’, he lamented. "We are hopeful that the new Congress government would definitely sanction the ration cards as the civil supplies minister N.Uttam Kumar Reddy, district collectors said that issuing of new ration cards is a regular process’, Ramesh explained. In Banswada, few people confronted the Advisor to the state government and MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on various issues. It is the first time that few people targeted MLAs in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts. Armoor BJP MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy also faced ire of women in Khudawanpur village in Nandipet mandal during Praja Palana grama sabha. In view of this, police forces deployed during the grama sabhas. Congress leader Chakradhar Goud alleged that BRS leaders misguiding the people during the Praja Palana grama sabhas. Unable to digest the popularity of the Congress party, BRS leaders began false propaganda, he said. BRS senior leaders prepared strategies and disturbed the Praja Palana grama sabhas few areas, he said. ‘We will teach fitting lesson to the BRS leaders as soon as possible’, he warned.
