Police arrest suspect in minor’s sexual assault
Visakhapatnam: The Srikakulam police have apprehended a suspect involved in the sexual assault of a minor girl on January 19. DSP Ch. Vivekananda stated at a press conference on Wednesday that 23-year-old Naru Prasad was the accused. He was apprehended near a bear factory. The DSP revealed that the accused allegedly assaulted an 8-year-old girl while she was playing, luring her with biscuits and chocolates. The incident came to light when the victim’s aunt noticed her crying and took her to the hospital, prompting the registration of a case. The DSP further said that according to the complaint lodged at the J.R. Puram Police Station, a case was registered under Crime No. 21/2025 on January 20, 2025. The accused is set to be presented in court for remand.
