Hyderabad: Manda Krishna Madiga, leader of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS), praised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his commitment to fulfilling the promise of categorising Scheduled Caste (SC) sub-castes. Krishna expressed his support for the state government and stated that he considers the Chief Minister a brother for initiating the official process for SC categorisation. During the meeting, Krishna also highlighted the challenges faced in the classification of SC sub-castes and discussed them with the Chief Minister.

CM Revanth Reddy assured the delegation that the Telangana government is dedicated to delivering justice to the Madiga community and its sub-castes. He briefed Krishna and his team about the steps taken by the government, including discussions held in the Assembly, the formation of a Cabinet sub-committee, and the establishment of a judicial commission to expedite the categorisation process. Reddy also noted that the Cabinet had studied the commission's report and approved it in the Assembly. He emphasised that the official process undertaken by the state government has helped avoid potential legal complications.

The MRPS representatives recalled that Reddy, as an opposition MLA, had previously fought for a resolution in the Assembly in favor of SC sub-caste classification. The Chief Minister encouraged the delegation to bring any objections or concerns to the attention of the Cabinet sub-committee and the judicial commission for further review and resolution.
