Manda krishna Madiga rally deferred

Hyderabad: Arally planned by Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi leader Manda Krishna Madiga on Feb. 7 seeking early implementation of SC categorization has been postponed. He cited denial of permission to hold the rally with one lakh drums by the city police commissioner and the DGP as the reason for deferring the meeting.

Addressing the media at the Somajiguda press club he said, "I welcome the approval given by the Telangana government for the categorization and its rejection of creamy layer as sought by the one man commission headed by Dr Justice Shameem Akhtar. The categorization ignored the status of madigas backwardness along with our numbers and categorized castes based on political considerations. The castes which are most forward like Pambala have been included in the group A category which is supposed to have the most backward castes among SCs."
Explaining it further he stated the Pambala caste who number just around 1,000 in the state are supposed to have around 100 of them as government employees. That amounts to one employee for every tenth person in that caste but it has been placed in the Group A of more backward castes among them, he said.
The division he stated was done to benefit to the malas. Madigas should have got 11 percent quota instead of the nine that was given. This is also the case with Manne caste who are relatively better off but still are in the category A.
Neta kani caste among the SCs accounts for the third highest number of them. It has been included in the SC B Malas category to increase the quota open to Malas to 5 percent, he said
Damodar Rajanasimha is to be blamed for failing to guard the interests of Madigas, he added.
