Man Held in Attack on Girl Student
The accused has been identified as a junior artist in movies
Visakhapatnam: The Srikakulam police arrested the prime suspect in the attack on a final-year student of Srikakulam Degree College, which occurred on January 31.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as K. Jagadeesh, a junior artist in movies. The accused and the victim were previously acquainted. The victim is a native of Kondagudem village in Santakaviti mandal. The attack allegedly took place when Jagadeesh, after dropping off the victim, proposed marriage to her. Upon her refusal, he reportedly assaulted her with his bare hands. She was found unconscious by fellow students within the hostel premises on Thursday evening.
DSP Ch. Vivekanand stated that the victim had left the hostel at 3 pm, visited a beautician around 5 pm, and returned to the hostel at 8 pm when the attack took place. She sustained injuries, including a swollen eye from a fist blow and abrasions on her chin and other parts of her body. She was immediately rushed to the government hospital. A case has been registered.
