Hyderabad Literary Festival 2025 Begins Jan 24 at T-Hub
Hyderabad: The 2025 edition of the Hyderabad Literary Festival (HLF) edition is set to be held at the Sattva Knowledge City and T-Hub in Hyderabad from January 24 to 26. Entry is free for the event which will host speakers like Shabana Azmi, reflecting on her fifty years in cinema and Siddharth discussing acting and filmmaking. Literary enthusiasts can hear from the likes of Anita Nair, Arundhati Subramanium and Amol Palekar. The festival will feature Adishakti’s play ‘Urmila’, which explores the themes of autonomy and relationships through the lens of Ramayana’s lesser-known characters, while bands like Advaita, and the Djembe Circle, will also perform. There is something for art connoisseurs, with exhibitions like ‘Water Music’ by Lithuanian artist Egle Lipeikaite and a collection of historical photographs from Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital, celebrating its 700th anniversary. A special exhibition on rock conservation will include creative activities like painting and origami to connect with Hyderabad’s geological heritage. There will be a special tribute screening of Shyam Benegal’s movies like ‘Susman’, shot in Telangana and focusing on the lives of rural handloom weavers. Movies and documentaries like ‘Sindhustan’ will also be featured at the fest along with post-screening discussions with directors and creators. For the children, there are Nanha Nukkad and Youngistaan Nukkad. The HLF is to host interactive sessions with hands-on activities and open mic events. Further, HLF’s new streams, Indigenous and Endangered Languages and Science and the City will offer sessions that explore language, community and technology with talks by experts like Soumya Swaminathan and GV Prasad.
