Fire mishap at electrical store in Jangaon

Warangal:A major fire broke out at the Jai Bhavani Electrical and Hardware store on the Warangal-Hyderabad Main Road in Jangaon district headquarters late Wednesday night. The incident occurred after the shop had closed for the day when locals noticed smoke emanating from the shutter and alerted authorities.

Flames had erupted by the time police and fire safety officials arrived, and the blaze quickly spread to nearby shops. Responding promptly, officials used water pumps and fire-extinguishing chemicals, with a fire engine from Alair, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, providing additional support. Preliminary estimates suggest property damage could reach up to Rs 50 lakh. Police suspect a short circuit may have caused the fire.

Family members of the shop owner and approximately 15 employees, who were on the upper floor, were safely evacuated through the back of the building as fire officials broke open the shutters to control the flames.
