CID Verifies Illegal Kidney Transplant Case in Hyderabad

Hyderabad:The Crime Investigation Department (CID) has verified the kidney illegal transplant case which was registered by the Saroornagar police, sources said on Thursday. However, there was no official direction from the government to the CID to take up the probe. Health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha a few days ago had sought a CID into the case, stating that the investigation needed to be extended to Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The Saroornagar police, who registered the case, have arrested 10 accused including doctors. The government is likely to issue orders in a few days directing the CID to register cases and probe the kidney racket.
