2,500 Cusecs of Water Released Into IFFC

�Nizamabad: Officials of the Sriramsagar Project (SRSP) released 2,500 cusecs of water into the Indiramma Flood Flow Canal (IFFC) on Sunday to meet agricultural needs for the Yasangi (Rabi) season.
Following directives from higher authorities, the release was made ahead of the planned schedule from December 25, 2024, to April 8, 2025, under Zone-2 of the command area. Water was also released above Lower Manair Dam (LMD) through the flood flow canal and linked to the Kakatiya main canal.
SRSP Division-2 executive engineer M. Chakrapani urged farmers to use water judiciously and cooperate with the irrigation department. He also warned residents and fishermen along the canal banks to stay cautious as water levels rise.
