Grama Sabhas would be held at Kukkunuru and Velerupadu mandals for this purpose. Housing minister Parthasaradhi said thatthe land acquisition process should be completed soon for Chintalapudi Lift Irrigation Scheme and steps must be taken to remove the weed in the canals and drains. Eluru MP, Mahesh Kumar, said the Eluru district is having favourable conditions to establish food processing units and the officials should encourage such industrialists to set up their units there. MLC Venkata Ramana complained that ponds in 14,000 acres were lost in the Kolleru operation time, but the farmers did not get any compensation for this. Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar said polluted water from Krishna Canal is being distributed to the Denduluru constituency and this should be rectified immediately. He said a pollution-free project should be taken up in 350 acres in Krishna Canal.
