NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal recently said that Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors should be in the conversation for greatest basketball player of all time.
Even with all his accomplishments and historic achievements, some people don’t think Curry is a top-five or top-ten player.
His head coach Steve Kerr spoke about this and said that Curry “is the greatest ever from a skills standpoint.”
“It’s different; the way he impacts the game is different. When you have these conversations about ‘Who’s the greatest ever?’ you automatically go to these genetic marvels; you know, LeBron and Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain and whoever else. Steph doesn’t fit that normal mold. I love that Shaq is bringing that up because, from a skills standpoint, it’s not even close. [Curry] is the greatest ever from a skills standpoint,” Kerr said, per 95.7 The Game and NBACentral.

Kerr pointed out something that is very important: Curry isn’t built like the traditional NBA superstar.
This actually worked against him when he entered the NBA.
Because of his size and skill set, some people thought he’d never make it in the league and that he just couldn’t cut it against men who were much bigger and stronger than him.
Instead of simply accepting that, Curry changed the way the sport was played.
His reliance on ball-handling and three-point shots literally transformed the NBA and teams, players, and coaches across the association took note of the success Curry and his team found.
He may not look like LeBron, Jordan, or Chamberlain, but he has still become an icon in his own right.
He didn’t sacrifice the player he is and relied even more on his unique skill set.
Kerr thinks that is a vital and important part of Curry’s game and his legacy.
