To say that this has been a frustrating season for the Philadelphia 76ers would be a massive understatement.

This team was expected to compete for an NBA Championship, but they might not even make the playoffs.

Nevertheless, team owner Josh Harris doesn’t want his fans to give up hope.

Talking to Keith Pompey (via NBA Central), the business mogul shared his optimism on potentially making a deep postseason run:

“I’m really optimistic that we are going to make a playoff run now,” he said.

The Sixers are 20-32 for the season and in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

Still, they’re just a couple of games behind the No. 10-seeded Chicago Bulls, so they could technically still make a run at the Play-In Tournament.

Also, the Eastern Conference is usually less competitive than the West, so you can’t rule anything out.

However, it will take a lot to go their way to pull this off.

For starters, they will need to do something they haven’t managed all year, which is staying healthy.

Joel Embiid has struggled to play this season as he continues to deal with his persistent knee injury issues.

Paul George has also been on the shelf more often than not, and his once-promising signing is now looking like a bit of a nightmare.

They also lost star rookie Jared McCain for the season when he was starting to look like a star.

They still have a very talented scorer like Tyrese Maxey, and Nick Nurse is a savvy tactician and a championship-winning coach, but this will be easier said than done.
