During the first couple of months of the 2024-25 NBA regular season, the league has come under fire for the product being shown on the basketball floor, as it seems fans have finally grown tired of the three-point shooting era.
NBA ratings for games have headed into a downward spiral, with some becoming concerned that fans are tuning out because they are sick of seeing every team play exactly the same way, along with star players across the league sitting out multiple games with injuries that wouldn’t even faze players in the past.
With the league becoming harder and harder to watch due to the lack of creativity and effort on the floor, some star players of the past have started to speak out and express their opinions, as they feel it is not the same game that they loved and dedicated their lives to during their playing days.
Four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal is one of those iconic players of the past who is livid about the product on the basketball floor right now and had no problem expressing why he thinks that way on The Big Podcast with Shaq via NBA Central.
“It’s soft, and I’ve said this a million times, it’s soft because everybody is doing the same thing. It drives me f******* crazy,” O’Neal said.
Shaq says today’s NBA is “f*cking terrible” and soft, criticizing teams for lacking real defensive strategies and relying too much on switching everything on defense
“How do you switch a 5’11 guy on a 7’5 guy?”
