Warangal: Poll Code Delays Enumamula Market Panel Body
The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled after the issuance of a GO on January 28, has been stalled due to the enforcement of the Election Code of Conduct following the announcement of the MLC election schedule
Warangal:The formation of the new governing body for the Agriculture Market Committee in Enumamula has hit an unexpected roadblock, despite being finalised after a prolonged wait of one and a half years.
The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled after the issuance of a Government Order (GO) on January 28, has been stalled due to the enforcement of the Election Code of Conduct following the announcement of the MLC election schedule.
The Election Commission's notification for two teachers’ and one graduate MLC seat came into effect the very next day, halting the committee’s official assumption of office. The delay has frustrated Congress leaders in the Warangal East constituency, represented by endowment minister Konda Sureka. Party loyalists, who had endured hardships during the previous BRS government, feel sidelined, alleging that recent entrants to the Congress, particularly those who switched from BRS, are being priority for key positions.
Dissatisfied senior Congress leaders have reportedly lodged a complaint with the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), expressing their discontent over being overlooked. Meanwhile, further delays in circulating the required files within the marketing department have added to the uncertainty. Although the GO was issued, local authorities did not receive the necessary documentation until January 31.
Officials from the marketing department have indicated that special permission from the Election Commission is required to proceed with the swearing-in ceremony. Until the election restrictions are lifted, the fate of the committee remains uncertain.
