Hyderabad: Rat faeces and cockroach infestation were found in the store room in the canteen run by Sri Sai Ganesh Caterers at NALSAR University in Shamirpet during a surprise inspection carried out by Telangana Food Safety officials.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) license was found to be obtained on registered address instead of food preparation premises. The caterer was found to be not maintaining temperature records and the raw materials were kept on the floor without pallets. As muskmelon seeds weighing 20 kg used for gravy curries found to be insect infested, officials discarded them.
