Rachakonda police constable’s family donates organs to Jeevandan after tragic accident
Hyderabad: The family members of a police constable, P Prashant Reddy working in Kandukur police station donated his organs to Jeevandan after he succumbed to injuries in a corporate hospital on Saturday. Forty-year-old constable suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run road accident incident that took place on Srisailam highway at the airport crossroads on December 28, 2024. The incident occurred when Prashant was returning home in Uppal on his motorcycle after completing his duty. Rachakonda Commissioner G Sudheer Babu lauded the constable’s family for their kind gesture. Despite the pain of losing their family head, Prashant's family members came forward to save the lives of other persons suffering from serious health problems. “Giving life to another person by donating an organ is a great thing and it is highly appreciable,” he said. Sudheer Babu sanctioned Rs.90,000 for funeral expenses of the constable Prashanth Reddy. The funeral was conducted in Uppal on Sunday. Kandukur Inspector K Seetharam confirmed Deccan Chronicle that the constable’s kidney and liver was donated to Jeevandan. The 2003-batch constable was working at Kandukur police station for the last four years. He is survived by wife and two children.
