Opposition inciting public against land acquisition: Revanth

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasised his government’s commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the people while launching four major welfare schemes on Sunday in Chandravancha, Kosgi mandal. The schemes include Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa, Indiramma Illu, and the issuance of new ration cards. As part of the initiatives, 734 beneficiaries received Rythu Bharosa cheques, and the Indiramma Illu scheme was launched with a budget of Rs 11.80 crore. “We are solving issues one by one and steadily fulfilling our guarantees,” the Chief Minister stated. Highlighting the government's achievements, Revanth Reddy pointed out that the Congress government was the first to introduce free power to farmers and implement a nationwide farm loan waiver. “We have waived Rs 2 lakh for farmers, and no other state has matched this. Recognising rising agricultural expenses, we’ve also increased Rythu Bharosa to Rs 12,000 per acre annually,” he said. The CM criticised the previous administration, accusing it of neglecting welfare programmes. “In the last decade, poor people did not benefit from housing schemes. We are now providing financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to help the underprivileged build homes. Additionally, the previous government failed to issue ration cards in the past 10 years. We have collected applications through Grama Sabhas and are deploying officials directly to villages to address the people’s needs,” he assured. Taking a dig at the opposition, the CM remarked, “If an opposition leader cannot attend the Assembly, they have no right to hold that position. They are provoking people against land acquisition meant for industrial projects. Unlike others, I do not misuse public money or grant positions to my entire family.” The CM also criticised the incomplete Palamuru project, which remains unfinished a decade after its inception. He further pointed out the failure of the Kaleshwaram project, built with Rs 1 lakh crore, which he claimed "sank within three years." Reiterating the Congress party’s commitment to promises, Reddy said, “Sonia Gandhi promised Telangana, and the Congress delivered. Similarly, every promise made by our government will be honored. This is Praja Prabhutvam (people's governance), where the government is answerable to the public.” The launch of these schemes marks a significant step in the state government’s efforts to address the needs of farmers, the poor, and rural communities while striving for transparency and accountability in governance.
