HYDRAA removes 53 illegal hoardings

Hyderabad: HYDRAA authorities are now focusing on illegal hoardings in suburban municipal areas around Hyderabad, taking down 35 unipoles, 4 uni-structures and 14 rooftop hoardings on Thursday.

The drive was carried out in Shamshabad, Kothwalguda, Narsingi, Thondpally, Gollapally Road, and Tellapur. A massive crane was used to take down the hoardings on both sides of the roads.

Advertising agency representatives also met HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath on Thursday, requesting him to not remove the hoardings to which Ranganath clarified that only unauthorised hoardings were being taken down.

He said that they had earlier been given time to remove illegal hoardings, but since they failed to act, HYDRAA had to intervene. Despite the agencies requesting another seven to 10 days to clear the hoardings, Ranganath denied and pointed out that they had already been given enough time.
