Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced establishing a Global Leadership Centre in the capital city of Amaravati.
The Centre would be set up by CII in collaboration with Singapore's IMB University, one of the prominent business schools.
Prominent industrialists, business magnates and CEOS would be included in the GLC management committee.
The GLC aims to transform Indians settled abroad as global leaders and entrepreneurs. Interest candidates would be trained in corporate and public governance and readied to face future challenges.
The GLC will have chapters in various countries across the world. The GLC will become the hub to provide leadership services to various countries in the world. Indians are leading with highest per capita income in America and of them, 35% are Telugus.
Addressing mediapersons at his residence, Naidu said that they had been to Davos to promote Andhra Pradesh as a brand and also improve networking. There is no point in taking Indian companies to Davos and signing MoUs with them there. The four days during which the Summit is held, leaders of various countries, ministers and corporate giants will descend on the city.
"If we have to meet them individually, we need to get visas and also take appointments, which would involve a lot of time. But, if we got to Davos, everything can be completed within 3-4 days. If we have to meet Bill Gates, we have to take an appointment and go to Seattle. In Davos, we could meet him easily without all these formalities.
Going to Davos will help us know the improvements in technology, what the world is expecting from us and how the developed countries are moving ahead in their endeavours, Naidu said.
Goodwill and friendship will help in resolving many bottlenecks and set the ball rolling for bigger goals. Many people will be ready to forge friendship with us and we should be able to accept their willingness, Naidu added.
