Celebrities should be more responsible towards public: Telangana DGP Jitender
The DGP reiterated that the state government was committed to the protection of women and children
Karirmnagar: Telangana DGP Jitender urged the citizens to act responsible. He said that the Telangana police does not have any grudge against anyone personally.
The DGP was speaking after inaugurating Bharosa Kendra at Kotthapalli in Karimnagar district.
"The stampede at Sandhya theatre is an unfortunate incident. The police has nothing against Allu Arjun. Action was taken as per the legal procedure. Protection and safety of the people is the primary responsibility of the police. He could be a popular hero but he should understand the ground-level reality. Such incidents will have a detrimental effect on the safety of the public. Promotion of a film is not greater than people's security. Even senior actor Mohan Babu was booked in connection with assaulting a journalist. Action will be taken basing on the legal provisions."
The DGP reiterated that the state government was committed to the protection of women and children. The police force works round-the-clock for people's safety. Bharosa Kendras are being set up following the state government's initiative and even the Supreme Court appreciated this initiative, he said, adding that officials from other states are also visiting these centres set up in every district.
One doctor and legal expert would be providing their service at each Bharosa Kendra. They will solve all types of problems, he added.
