Basavaraj Bommai confirms he is not in the race for the BJP state president position
Bommai also addressed the ongoing war of words between former minister Sriramulu and MLA Janardhan Reddy, calling it a temporary misunderstanding
Haveri: Haveri MP and former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has clarified that he is not an aspirant for the post of BJP state president. Speaking to reporters, Bommai emphasized that the ongoing election process for the new state president will be conducted harmoniously under the guidance of senior leaders.
"The BJP is a party built on collective strength. Unity is achieved only when everyone works together. We do not have the illusion that one person alone can build the party. Senior leaders like Shivraj Singh Chouhan will oversee the process, ensuring that the election is held smoothly," he stated.
Bommai also addressed the ongoing war of words between former minister Sriramulu and MLA Janardhan Reddy, calling it a temporary misunderstanding.
"Sriramulu and Reddy are older and closer friends than either of us. Sometimes, even close friendships experience gaps. But in the end, friendship always prevails. Everything will be resolved. I will personally speak to Janardhan Reddy, and from the party's perspective, I will meet both of them in a spirit of harmony to resolve the issue," he assured.
The election for BJP state president has triggered discussions within the party, with some favoring the continuation of the incumbent, B.Y. Vijayendra, while others, led by Bijapur City MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal, are pushing for a change. Meanwhile, speculation has emerged about a potential third candidate, with Bommai's name being floated on social media.
