Dibrugarh, Dec 29: Kaushik Kashyap, a talented singer from the tea city of Dibrugarh, has won hearts with his latest Hindi release, Chandni Raat.
The romantic melody, released on the YouTube channel ‘WECFY’ music, has taken social media by storm, garnering impressive views within its first week and marking a major milestone in Kashyap’s musical journey.
Shot amidst Dibrugarh’s heritage locations, the video narrates a poignant tale of an introvert’s transformation through love. What makes this achievement extraordinary is that it was conceived and executed during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, a time when Kashyap returned to his hometown from Mumbai, where his career had come to an abrupt standstill.
Amidst the uncertainty of the lockdown, Kashyap turned adversity into opportunity. Armed with limited resources and boundless determination, he created Chandni Raat in a makeshift home studio, crafting a melody that speaks of resilience and hope.
“This is my second Hindi song, and I am thrilled with the positive response. Making a Hindi song without substantial financial support is very tough, but I planned to shoot the video in Dibrugarh with my savings,” shares Kashyap. Despite numerous hurdles, the video was completed in just two days, a testament to his perseverance.
His passion for the arts led him to Mumbai, where he collaborated with renowned artist Ali Quli Mirza before the pandemic changed everything.
His artistic portfolio reflects versatility: composing the title track for the period short film Hunz N Gunz, starring in the lead role, and creating the acclaimed Sufi-fusion track Jogi De Naal, released by Zee Music Company. His Assamese video song Sadiya also earned recognition from Assam Tourism for its contribution to promoting the region.
