Where will Jimmy Butler go if he leaves the Miami Heat?
That is the question all NBA fans were asking Friday morning, hours after Butler reportedly informed the Heat that he wanted to be traded.
The Golden State Warriors have been attached to Butler rumors for weeks, but there could be a huge roadblock preventing any trade.
Brett Siegel reported, per NBACentral, that the Heat are intent on acquiring Jonathan Kuminga in any potential trade.
The problem is the Warriors don’t seem interested in moving Kuminga.
Siegel wrote:
“The Warriors and Heat have held discussions with one another regarding Butler this season, league sources confirmed. Although mutual interest between Butler and Golden State exists, Miami has made it clear that Jonathan Kuminga is a player they would want to be included in the framework of a potential deal for their superstar forward. While there are conflicting opinions around the league as to what Kuminga’s long-term future looks like, the Warriors have not been eager to include him in trade discussions to this point.”

The report says Golden State isn’t “eager” to include Kuminga in a trade, but that doesn’t mean they won’t change their minds.
It all depends on what a trade package looks like and how much they feel Butler could help them.
On paper, Butler seems like the sort of player who could quickly assist the Warriors, who are currently the 10th team in the West with a 17-16 record.
However, would Butler be enough to help the team return to the playoffs and possibly the Finals?
He might bring win-now abilities with him, but some people feel Kuminga could be a huge part of the team’s future.
The Warriors will have to weigh their options and consider what a future with Kuminga looks like.
Are they willing to commit to him or take a chance with Butler?
