The Washington Wizards drafted John Wall with the hope that he would change the trajectory of their franchise.

Wall provided a lot of highlight-reel moments during his first few seasons in the NBA, including the 2014 Dunk Contest, which he won.

However, injuries started to become a problem for Wall, which he has dealt with for the past several years.

He played for the Wizards until 2020, later moving on to the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers.

While he played 40 games for the Rockets, Wall only started three games for the Clippers last season, as injuries kept him from being as effective as he would have liked.

Despite not playing at all this season due to injury, Wall recently indicated that he is interested in coming back to the league if a team will take him.

“It would mean the world… You want to go out on your own terms,” Wall said.

As Wall said, he wants to try and retire when he can still play at a high level, rather than being forced to retire due to medical issues.

While he can still be effective and efficient remains to be seen, but Wall wants to give it a try, at least.

Teams around the league might be seeking a veteran like Wall to join their roster, if for nothing else than to be a strong locker-room presence for the young players within the organization.

Only time will tell a team will take a chance on the veteran who’s hoping for a second chance.
