After a slow start to the 2024-25 NBA season, the Milwaukee Bucks are suddenly right back in the thick of things.
The Bucks showed off their potential as a title contender after winning the NBA Emirates Cup, beating a fellow contender in the Oklahoma City Thunder convincingly.
Milwaukee’s turnaround has been fueled by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has been on a tear and is making a strong case for MVP.
Antetokounmpo has been much more aggressive in recent weeks.
He gets to the rim almost at will and punishes defenders who try to match him physically.
The Greek superstar is still squarely in his prime and will compete for titles as long as the Bucks continue to invest in the roster, though it’s never too early to begin thinking about one’s next career move.
According to Jasmyn Wimbish of CBS Sports, Antetokounmpo wants to remain involved in basketball as a head coach after he retires from playing.
“Afterward, when I retire, I want to be a head coach. A lot of people don’t know that about me, but I want to be a head coach. I really want to be,” Antetokounmpo said.
Giannis:

It’s unclear whether or not Antetokounmpo meant wanting to be a head coach in the NBA or at another level, but interestingly, he’d like to make the transition in general.
Regardless, Antetokounmpo has plenty of time to consider where he’d like to coach.
He’s still a star NBA player with a chance to add to his strong resume.
