Rose came to the Bulls after being picked in the 2008 draft.

He had an explosive opening season, averaging 16.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 6.3 assists, earning Rookie of the Year and a ton of praise from analysts and fans, who saw him as a part of the league’s future.

Rose earned MVP just a few seasons later and was building a remarkable career.

Sadly, things were derailed when he suffered a devasting knee injury.

After taking a season off to rehabilitate, Rose returned, but he was never the same.

He left the Bulls after the 2015-16 season and played for the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, and Memphis Grizzlies before retiring after last season.

Rose’s injury has created one of the biggest NBA “what ifs” of all time, with so many people wondering what could have happened had he stayed healthy.

Regardless, Rose in his prime was a Chicago hero and the team’s loyal fanbase still loves him.
