Insider Reveals Why Warriors Are Hesitant To Trade For Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler’s days of playing for the Miami Heat have likely come to an end, but we don’t know where he will head next.

Reportedly, Butler would be open to playing for the Golden State Warriors, but the team is apparently not so sure about that.

According to Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson, via Evan Sidery, the Warriors have “serious hesitations” about including Andrew Wiggins in a potential trade for Butler.

Sidery wrote:

“For Golden State to get close on matching salaries with the Heat, Wiggins would likely have to be a part of it.”

The Warriors are reportedly intrigued by the concept of adding Butler to their roster, but not if it’ll cost them Wiggins.

Wiggins has experienced his fair share of ups and downs while playing for the Warriors, but the team is very fond of him and wants to keep him around.

If they are going to trade him, they will only do it if they get more than Butler.

Unless the Warriors change their mind about Wiggins, it seems unlikely that Butler will be coming to Golden State.

That means the Heat will have to look at other options, but the number of teams interested in Butler could shrink by the day.

For many reasons, Butler to Golden State made a lot of sense, but it looks like that ship has sailed.

The search will go on, and Butler will probably still leave Miami, but he probably won’t be heading to San Francisco.
