Bronny James had another terrific night playing for the G-League South Bay Lakers on Friday, scoring 31 points with five three-pointers.
It was the best night of his basketball career, and James once again received a ton of attention from the fans.
Following the game, he was asked if he was having fun in the G-League and what this time with South Bay means to him.
“I’m having fun. Any time I’m playing basketball, any time I’m out here breathing, any time I’m walking, I’m having fun and I’m grateful. I’m down to earth and I’m grateful for everything that’s been given to me,” James said, via Courtside Buzz.
Bronny James when asked if he’s “having fun” balling out in the NBA G-League after much criticism from NBA fans & 1.5 years after suffering cardiac arrest:

James’ time with the Los Angeles Lakers might not be blowing people away, but he is doing great things with their G-League counterpart.
It’s been a long road getting James to this point.
Back in July of 2023, he suffered cardiac arrest because of a congenital heart defect.
The road to recovery was long and his time with the USC Trojans was cut short because of his medical issue.
People were less than impressed when they finally saw him play for USC and critics came out to claim he wouldn’t be ready for the NBA draft.
In the end, he left an impression during the NBA combine and earned his spot with the Los Angeles Lakers, who chose him toward the end of the draft.
Although he has hardly made a mark with the Los Angeles Lakers, he has averaged 16.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists during his G-League games.
Is this preparing him for more production with his father’s team or just making him a popular G-League mainstay?
No matter what happens, James will continue to have fun and play to the best of his ability.
