Tyrese Haliburton Tried To Recruit 76ers Star During Olympics

The Philadelphia 76ers entered the season with high hopes and expectations.

Unfortunately, a myriad of injuries got in the way, and they might not even make the playoffs now.

Joel Embiid’s never-ending injury woes made some fans and analysts question whether the team should consider trading him.

If that were to be the case, he would urge them never to move him to the Indiana Pacers.

That was evident in a clip from Netflix’s documentary about Team USA in the Olympics.

As shown by Evan Sidery on X, Tyrese Haliburton tried to pitch Embiid to join him with the Pacers, to which the star big man claimed that he would rather retire.

Hopefully, that’s not going to be the case any time soon, but things don’t look good for Embiid right now.

He’s been barely able to play this season, and he admitted that he might not play another back-to-back ever again.

He’s not that old to take that approach, and it speaks volumes about how hurt he might actually be.

Perhaps, with the Sixers so out of contention, he would be better off shutting it down for the season and making sure to get back to full strength for the upcoming campaign.

When healthy, there’s no doubt that Embiid is one of the most impactful two-way players in the league, but he just can’t stay healthy, especially when it matters the most.

As for the Pacers, they seem to be doing just fine with Myles Turner, who just survived yet another trade deadline.
