The Golden State Warriors continue to free-fall.
Not so long ago, this team had the best record in the Western Conference, and they looked like they would get back to their championship-contention ways.
Fast forward to today, and they’re now sitting on a 16-16 record.
When asked about that, coach Steve Kerr didn’t sugar-coat it.
Instead, he openly admitted that this might just be the state of his team right now (via 95.7 The Game):
“You are what your record says you are. I think there’s a lot of truth to that,” Kerr said.

As much as the fans won’t want to admit it, Kerr might be right on point with his assessment there.
He’s been forced to shuffle the rotation and the starting lineup over and over, and that rarely translates into success at any level, much less in the NBA.
The Warriors are a deep team full of solid role players, but they don’t have another star.
Stephen Curry, as great as he is, is aging and has been battling a knee injury all season long.
He needs Jonathan Kuminga to step up, and the same goes for Buddy Hield, Andrew Wiggins, and Brandin Podziemski, all of which have seemingly regressed.
The Warriors are now tenth in the Western Conference standings.
They currently hold the final spot in the Play-In Tournament, but with the San Antonio Spurs getting better and most likely making a big trade before the deadline, they might not be able to hold onto that position.
The Warriors need to make a big move before it’s too late if they still think they can compete this season.
