The Golden State Warriors started the season with a bang.

They looked like they were poised to become a championship contender again.

Then, they hit a bit of a slump, and they have been rather lethargic ever since.

They’ve lost most of their games over the past couple of weeks, with just a couple of wins in between.

That’s why Stephen Curry had a simple way to describe their current state.

Following their home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the four-time NBA champion was honest about how he felt (via 95.7 The Game):

“Like the kids say, we’re very mid right now. Just very average,” he said.

Curry has been dealing with a nagging knee injury for most of the season.

The former MVP even had one of the worst games of his career, scoring just two points.

The Warriors desperately need someone to step up and give him a helping hand.

Jonathan Kuminga has emerged as the likeliest candidate, even logging back-to-back games with 34 points before falling back to Earth with 18 points against the Cavaliers.

Notably, Steve Kerr also needs to settle on a starting lineup, as injuries and inconsistent performances have forced his hand to shuffle the starters and the rotation over and over.

There’s still more than enough time to turn things around for this team, but they will most likely need to make a big move before the trade deadline.

Also, they will need to get Curry as close to full strength as possible, even if that means having to protect him from himself and sitting him for a couple of games.
