At the end of the 2024 Paris Olympics, LeBron James was named men’s basketball MVP, and a lot of people thought he deserved that honor.
However, there has been some debate about that award since James claimed it in the summer.
Stephon Marbury, never one to hold back his thoughts about James, doesn’t think the Los Angeles Lakers star deserved MVP.
Speaking with Whistle, via Legion Hoops, Marbury made his opinion clear:
“Steph Curry should have got the [Olympics] MVP, period.”
He then went on to say, “They think I’m a LeBron James hater. I love LeBron as a basketball player. They get mad because I don’t agree that he’s better than Jordan.”

James posted 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists during the Paris games, which were obviously very impressive.
He was a proven team leader, and many people felt he was the glue that held Team USA together.
As for Curry, he averaged 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
Impressive as well, of course, but that doesn’t tell the full story.
Curry did a lot of great things during his first Olympics, especially in the game against France.
During that closing match, Curry went wild and shot 8-of-12 from the three-point line and set the sports world on fire with his performance.
This was Curry’s first time at the Olympics, and he made it count, leaving a lasting impression and reminding the world why he’s such an iconic superstar.
James was named MVP, but some fans feel that was because of his career and all he has done for the sport, not because of this particular run in the Olympics.
Regardless, no one can debate that both players did very well while representing their country.
