The Brooklyn Nets have lost four of their last five games, and head coach Jordi Fernandez is fed up.

The Nets were taken down by the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday night, and Fernandez made strong criticism about his team following the loss.

According to Erik Slater, via Legion Hoops, Fernandez said:

“If our guys who wear a Brooklyn Nets jersey don’t play harder defense, they don’t have a place in our roster.”

Three Brooklyn stars were in double digits during the 118-113 loss to the Bucks.

Nic Claxton put up 21 points, Cameron Johnson posted 26, and Dennis Schroder’s incredible season continued with 34 points and 11 assists.

Still, it wasn’t enough to stop the Bucks and several Brooklyn stars were in single digits.

Most notably, Ben Simmons didn’t score a single point during his 17 minutes on the court.

The Nets are in a weird spot this season, with some people thinking they should throw in the towel, trade away all assets, and focus on the upcoming draft and their future.

Meanwhile, multiple stars on the roster have been playing better than expected and have given the fanbase some glimmer of hope.

The Nets are the eighth team in the East with a 10-14 record.

That’s not great, but it’s far better than what some people anticipated.

However, Fernandez is frustrated with what he sees from his players when it comes to defense, and he is demanding more from them.

His statement isn’t an empty threat, either.

There have been many reports saying practically every player in Brooklyn could be up for a trade this season.

So if Fernandez and the front office aren’t impressed by someone’s defensive efforts, they may force them to pack their bags in the months ahead.
