The Golden State Warriors want Steph Curry to retire wearing their jersey and he has repeatedly said that is his plan.
But that requires that the team’s front office work as hard as possible to give him a great team.
Speaking to Anthony Slater and the rest of the press following Monday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors, Curry opened up about his future with the team and what the Warriors should be doing at the trade deadline.
He spoke as someone who will remain with the team, but he wants the front office to be smart and methodical and to keep the franchise in a good space as it moves forward.

Curry seems very involved in the plans for the team, saying if there was a situation or trade that made sense for the Warriors, he and the rest of the roster would know about it.
He said that is an expectation that the Warriors have always delivered on.
Curry wants to be a championship contender, and he hopes the front office does what it must to supply him with the best chance of winning another title.
But he also made it clear that they should not go wild and get desperate as the trade deadline approaches.
The team has been very quiet lately, although there have been many rumors of them making big moves.
In the summer, they only made a few adjustments and it clearly wasn’t enough.
It doesn’t seem like Curry is too worried or even remotely close to leaving, so the Warriors should be confident that he will still retire with Golden State.
However, they need to take advantage of this trade deadline and do something smart, or Curry and others might begin to lose patience.
