Another NBA All-Star Weekend has come and gone, and once again Mac McClung has overshadowed what was otherwise a lackluster weekend that left all who watched craving more.
The league made drastic changes to the All-Star Game this year and went with a 4-team tournament format, but fans were treated to just over 30 minutes of actual basketball during a 3-hour broadcast that was packed with excessive ads, award ceremonies, and Kevin Hart openly roasting the players during the game over the arena speakers.
The NBA is reportedly already gearing up to make more changes next year as Front Office Sports shared that the league is discussing adding a 1-on-1 tournament next year with a $1 million prize at stake.

It’s a fun idea that would settle a lot of casual debates, but $1 million likely isn’t enough to make this worth it for these guys.
There is also the personal element of this, as it’s fair to wonder if NBA stars will be willing to put their egos on the line for a 1-on-1 tournament.
If players won’t give a lot of effort in the All-Star Game, who’s to say they won’t also give minimum effort in a 1-on-1 tournament?
On the other hand, would players go all-out for the 1-on-1 tournament and then give even less effort during the All-Star Game in order to conserve energy?
Overall, All-Star Weekend is a mess right now and the NBA has a lot of work to do to fix it.
