Warriors On Track To Acquire Dennis Schroder From Nets
The Golden State Warriors are on track to acquire Dennis Schroder from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for De'Anthony Melton. The Warriors have just enough room under their first-apron hard cap to fit Schroder's $13 million salary in place of Melton's $12.8 million salary. Both Schroder and Melton are on expiring contracts, so there is no impact salary-wise beyond this season for either team. Golden State is reportedly sending Brooklyn three second-round picks in addition to Melton, per ESPN's Shams Charania. Melton is out for the season after having surgery on a partially torn left ACL. Schroder has averaged 18.4 points, 6.6 assists and 1.1 steals for Brooklyn this season. The veteran guard is shooting 45.2% from the field, including 38.7% on 6.5 three-point attempts per game.
