This offseason, LeBron James had an opportunity to sign with any NBA team of his choosing.
Instead, he wound up re-signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Of course, that made sense for him, as he would have all the leverage to force them into taking his firstborn son, Bronny James, and he wouldn’t have to relocate at this point in his career.
Also, playing for yet another team would only stain his legacy.
However, all decisions come at a cost.
While he could make a lot of money and stay there, he would likely sacrifice an opportunity to win another championship.
On the other hand, he had a chance to keep piling up milestones and records.
That’s exactly what happened in the game vs. the Detroit Pistons.
He knocked down his 847th three-pointer in the Purple & Gold jersey, passing Derek Fisher to become second all-time in three-pointers made in franchise history.
