The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t get the job done vs. the Detroit Pistons.
J.B. Bickerstaff’s team got the best of them on both sides of the glass and made the most of every second-chance opportunity they got.
The Lakers had been playing solid defense over the past few games, but that wasn’t the case against the surging Pistons.
However, when asked about their physicality and whether they disrupted the Lakers, LeBron James seemed unbothered.
“I’m a football player so I don’t mind physicality, to be honest,” he said.

Granted, James hasn’t been particularly talkative this season, so it’s not like he was going to say anything different.
The Lakers are flirting with a .500 record, and the reality is that they might not be able to be much better than that.
J.J. Redick has done some good things, but it’s not like he could’ve done much more with the hand he’s been given.
This roster isn’t very good, and they’re not as talented as other contending teams in the Western Conference.
They will most likely try to make some moves before the trade deadline, but given their assets, they likely won’t be able to land a difference-maker or someone who could legitimately help them find success.
It’s a shame to see a legendary player like LeBron James playing for a non-contending team during the last years of his career.
The Lakers are now No. 7 in the Western Conference, and they have a lot of catching up to do.
