JJ Redick was not happy with how his Los Angeles Lakers played on Monday evening.
LA was beaten 111-108 by the Brooklyn Nets and Redick feels that his team being short-handed is not a good enough reason for the defeat.
Speaking to the press after the game, Redick said the Lakers have to be better and that they had “low-level communication” against the Nets.
“I don’t think being short-handed is an excuse for how we played basketball tonight,” Redick said, per Spectrum SportsNet.
"Very low-level communication game for our team… I don’t think being short-handed is an excuse for how we played basketball tonight."

The Lakers were without several stars, including LeBron James who is now recovering from a groin injury.
Others like Jaxson Hayes and Rui Hachimura are also rehabbing from their own injuries.
But that doesn’t mean much to Redick, who didn’t see a lot of things to be happy about from his Lakers.
He feels this was a game they could have and should have won, but they gave it up.
He said the whole team wasn’t communicating well and was making simple mistakes that cost them the game.
Gabe Vincent did the most for the Lakers, scoring 24 points and going 6-of-9 from the three-point line.
Meanwhile, Luka Doncic had 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists.
But even his triple-double wasn’t enough and the Lakers were taken down for the second game in a row.
Are there concerns about the team, especially since James will be out for one to two weeks?
Of course there are and the road ahead is going to be difficult with a pretty tough schedule.
But Redick revealed that his team was going to work through their problems in practice and try to right the wrongs before moving on.
Last week, people were talking about the Lakers like they were championship contenders.
After two losses and a number of injuries, the worries are creeping in.
