A large chorus of people have been pleading with the Los Angeles Lakers to take advantage of the upcoming trade deadline and acquire a big man to pair with Anthony Davis.
But those people may end up not getting their wish.
On Monday, Marc Stein reported that the Lakers are not expected to show interest in Nikola Vucevic of the Chicago Bulls or Jakob Poeltl of the Toronto Raptors.
“League sources stressed over the weekend that the Lakers are not expected to join the hunt for either Vučević or Toronto’s Jakob Poeltl … while oft-suggested Lakers target Walter Kessler of the Utah Jazz is believed to as close to unavailable as it gets with less than 10 days to go before the trade deadline on Feb. 6 at 3 PM ET,” Stein wrote, via NBACentral.
The Los Angeles Lakers are not expected to show interest in centers such as Nikola Vucevic and Jakob Poeltl on the trade market, per @TheSteinLine

For many, this will be disappointing news because a talented center seems like the missing piece the Lakers need.
Fans have been feeling this way for a while, and their desire was recently increased when Anthony Davis publicly said he wanted a center on the team.
As big as he is, Davis would rather play as a power forward instead of center and wishes the front office would accommodate him.
Stein wrote that the financial implications are too much for the Lakers.
Both Vucevic and Poeltl come with big contracts, and their respective teams want enticing draft picks too.
The Lakers would rather not pay that sort of expense for these two, so they will likely move on.
That doesn’t mean they won’t trade for a big man, as the fans and Davis want, but it won’t be Vucevic or Poeltl unless the Bulls and Raptors change their demands before February 6.
