As the NBA trade deadline draws closer, multiple teams across the league are questioning their plans and lineups and contemplating changes.

Additionally, now is also the time when players make their opinions known.

According to Chris Haynes, via Legion Hoops, there is tension in the Phoenix Sun’s locker room and they are a team that should be closely watched in the weeks ahead.

Haynes reported:

“Now, there’s also tension in that locker room… I’m told certain players are unsure of their roles and frustrated about how they are being used… So this situation will be something to monitor moving forward.”

No one can blame the Suns for being unhappy right now.

The team started as one of the best in the West but has fallen to the 12th seed with a 15-18 record.

Even with the big three of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal, things aren’t looking bright in Phoenix.

On Sunday, it was reported that Beal and big man Jusuf Nurkic would be moving to the bench for the foreseeable future.

This shows just how severe the situation is because the coaching staff is moving two players to the second unit.

It’s not obvious which players are unhappy and why the tension is growing, but it’s likely because of changing roles and the disappointing defeats.

The good news here is that the trade deadline is coming up, so the Suns could make some changes to relieve tensions.

Would it be Beal, Nurkic, or someone else leaving the team?

At this point, fans shouldn’t be shocked if Phoenix pulls off something very big because they are desperate to get things back on track.
