Pat Riley recently stated the Miami Heat would not be trading Jimmy Butler.
Yet, that doesn’t mean the star is ready to play for the team again.
Anthony Chiang reported that Butler has “yet to rejoin” the Heat and is still in Miami doing “return to competition conditioning” following a stomach illness.
It’s not clear if he will play with the Heat in their games against the Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets this weekend.
Jimmy Butler has yet to rejoin the Heat and remains in Miami doing his "return to competition reconditioning" after missing time with a stomach illness.
His status for this weekend's games in Atlanta and Houston remains up in the air.

The Heat play the Hawks on Saturday evening and then travel to Houston to take on the Rockets on Sunday.
There is a very good chance that Butler will not be involved in either game, and the Heat won’t be back in Miami until New Year’s Day.
Butler hasn’t played since Dec. 20 and was only able to perform for seven minutes during that game.
His illness obviously took quite a toll on Butler, but it so happened that he got sick right as rumors about his future grew louder than ever.
Butler is reportedly unhappy about contract negotiations with the Heat, although he hasn’t yet demanded a trade.
But the writing is on the wall, and Butler seemingly wishes to play for a new team, although Riley and Miami’s front office don’t want to send him away.
Is this really a stomach illness, or is Butler playing hardball and trying to force his team’s hand?
The Heat have limited options when it comes to a Butler trade, so the six-time All-Star may need to get used to being in Miami for the rest of the season.
Fans will be paying close attention to him whenever he comes back and will be trying to gauge how competitive he is.
