It now seems increasingly likely that Lonzo Ball will not be with the Chicago Bulls at the end of this season.
The 27-year-old guard has faced a ton of injury problems over the years, and even though he’s played again this season, the Bulls seem ready to move on from him.
But they won’t give him away for just anything, so what is Chicago asking for?
According to Evan Sidery, the team is willing to trade Ball for second-round draft capital.
Ball has a $21.4 million expiring contract, which Sidery suggests could “help a contending team shed future salary.”
And while he’s not playing like he used to, Ball could give a team a backup point guard.

Ball is putting up 5.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists this season, although he has only played in nine games.
After more than two years of being away from the game, Ball was finally given the green light to return to the Bulls this summer.
Fans were hoping for a spectacular season from Ball but instead they found that he isn’t 100 percent yet and still suffers from knee problems, although they aren’t as severe as they once were.
As for the Bulls, they have essentially adjusted to life without Ball.
They didn’t have a choice, of course, and remained loyal to him during his lengthy absence.
But life has gone on without Ball, and it’s obvious they are ready to trade him in order to build a better future for the team.
Ball could be a strong backup guard for other NBA teams, but there may be great hesitation to sign him because of his history of getting hurt.
Who will pick up the phone and call the Bulls now that Ball is on the market?
