Danny Green Has Honest Admission About 2020 Lakers

Danny Green was lucky enough to win three championships during his many years in the NBA.

However, he was never with a team that claimed more than a single title.

But Green believes that one of his squads could have earned another championship if the front office handled things differently.

Speaking with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, via Legion Hoops, Green said the 2020 Lakers had the ability to do it again.

Green said:

“I think for sure if that team stayed together, we could’ve gotten a second [Championship].”

The 2019-20 Lakers are a team for the history books.

Not only did they have to fight through the loss of Kobe Bryant and the COVID pandemic, but the Lakers also played in a very competitive and unique postseason experience.

The team consisted of stars like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Alex Caruso, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, Kyle Kuzma, and more.

Of course, Green was an important part of the team too and averaged 8.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in the playoffs.

The Lakers stormed through the competition and won their 17th championship in the Orlando Bubble, but then the team’s front office made some surprising and confusing choices.

They traded away a lot of the roster, a move that fans are still questioning all these years later.

Since then, injuries and unfortunate trades have slowed the team down, and they haven’t been close to the group they were in 2020.

LA’s front office receives a lot of criticism from fans, but few things anger loyal Lakers followers more than how they blew up the 2020 championship team.
